In our fourth webinar, Professor Paula Jarzabkowski will present her research into Protection Gap Entities (PGEs). PGEs are those not-for-profit entities set up to manage disaster insurance protection gaps and support post-disaster reconstruction within states, countries, or across multiple countries. Based on her team’s research into PGEs around the world, she will focus particularly on those PGEs that are actively working to include risk mitigation and climate adaptation into insurance affordability and availability. Recognizing that there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to these issues, she will conclude with some broader principles to consider across a range of contexts, including in the US.
